August 2009 LAN

Postby ]=[endo » Mon Aug 31, 2009 8:33 am

Not a whole lot of people, but we had enough to have a great time. The best thing is that this is the first LAN that we didn't play COD (any version) in a few years!

We started off with Left 4 Dead.I thought it went over really well. It is a fun game to play. Playing in Co-op mode was a blast! I LOVE KILLING ZOMBIES!!!!

Then we went to Wolfenstein! This game was a lot of fun! We played Team Deathmatch instead of the objective based options. I like the maps. Veil mode I found very useful in those long shots. A lot easier to see your enemy. It didn't help my aim at all, but at least I knew I was shooting at someone. :)

Ell_Duderino suggested Call of Juarez, so we played that one. I liked the western feel of the game. Lets face it, we've done everything from world war 1 to futuristic battles. Going to a western was a nice change, and the towns were laid out really well. It's actually a slower paced game, so going from something like Wolfenstein or COD to Call of Juarez is kind of like cooling down from an intense workout. Not that I would know anything about that. LOL! I can see Call of Juarez being a great LAN starter, and then moving up to the faster paced games.

Then, of course, we had to get some Flatout 2 in there to finish off the night.

All-in-all, I think the LAN went over well. I know I had a great time. Again, special thanks to Ell_Duderino and GoCanes for straightening up the house before they left. I can't tell you how much I really appreciate that. You guys are the best!

I had a great time. L4D looked like a blast (guess I'll have to buy that one) and Wolfenstein was a nice change from COD. I could have done without Hendo's Orange Blossom Special though. That thing was still lingering in my pc when I got home

Those who left early missed out on some genuine midget porn... not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing... ^_^

Missing Midget porn is definitely a bad thing.

Well, the last two weekends in October I can't do it, but the 16th and 17th look promising. Since I'm supposed to be laid off in a two weeks, I'm not sure where things stand. I'll update in the Speak Easy as soon as I know.
